PARENTS ARE PART OF THE TREATMENT PLAN
A Parent Engagement Intensive Lab for Teen Therapists
Four Weeks. Small Cohorts. Real Cases. Real Confidence.
[ENROLL NOW -- $297 FOUNDING RATE]Let's be honest.
Most of us were thrown into parent work with almost no training and expected to figure it out as we went.
Graduate school taught us how to build rapport, write a treatment plan, and conceptualize a case. And then we started working with teenagers -- and suddenly we were navigating divorced parents who contradict each other in the waiting room, anxious mothers who want a weekly update on what their kid said in session, and fathers who think therapy is for people who can't handle their problems.
Nobody trained us for that.
Most therapists learn to survive these conversations. Fewer learn how to lead them.
This intensive is for the ones who are ready to lead.
Who This Is For
- You work with teens and the parent piece is the part that keeps you up at night
- You know you are good with teenagers, but family dynamics are where things get complicated
- You dread certain parent calls -- not because you do not care, but because you were never trained for them
- You feel caught between maintaining the teen's trust and keeping parents informed and engaged
- You take it personally when parents push back -- and you are tired of that
- You want a framework you actually built, not one borrowed from a protocol
This Is Not For You If
- You are looking for a script to follow with every parent
- You want a four-step system that reduces family dynamics to a formula
- You are not willing to bring your actual cases into the conversation
What We'll Build Together
Parents Are Part of the Treatment Plan is a four-week intensive learning lab designed specifically for therapists who work with teens.
This is not a webinar. This is not a passive training. This is a small-group clinical experience where you will learn a practical framework, apply it to your current caseload, get live consultation, and develop the confidence to navigate the nuance and gray areas that come with parent engagement.
Cohorts are capped at five participants. That is not a marketing strategy -- it is the only way this kind of learning actually works.
By the End of This Intensive, You Will:
- Have a clear, repeatable framework for engaging parents from the first contact -- not just when things get complicated
- Know how to talk about confidentiality in a way that builds trust with both the teen and the parent
- Understand how to train parents to become effective treatment collaborators, not just people you report to
- Navigate difficult parent dynamics -- resistance, reactivity, disengagement -- with confidence instead of anxiety
- Stop internalizing what parents think about you (this is a bigger shift than it sounds)
- Leave with a personalized Parent Engagement Framework you will actually use

The Curriculum
Week 1: Foundations of Parent Engagement
Parent engagement starts before the first session. Most therapists do not know this. We are going to change that.
Week 2: The Therapeutic Triangle
You are not caught between the teen and the parent. You are the guide for the whole system. This week you learn what that actually looks like.
Week 3: Leading Through Difficult Dynamics
The parent who pushes back, shuts down, or escalates is giving you clinical information. This week you learn how to read it -- and respond without losing your footing.
Week 4: Becoming the Guide
Integration, case consultation, and identity. You leave this week as a teen specialist who understands that treating teens means leading entire family systems.
About Your Instructor
Charity Chaffee, LMHC, has spent nearly two decades working almost exclusively with teenagers and families. She specializes in complex adolescent cases and has built her career helping therapists develop the clinical confidence to work with teens the way teens actually need.
Here is the part most trainers leave out: Charity has been the teenager in the therapy chair. She knows what it costs when the clinician across from you is working from a script instead of a relationship. She knows what teens can sense about a therapist before the session is five minutes in. And she knows what happens when the parent piece is handled poorly -- because she lived the other side of it.
That double lens -- clinical expertise plus lived experience as the teen in the system -- is not her backstory. It is her methodology. It changes everything about how she teaches this material.
Because if you treat teens, you should be trained for teens.
